Salema beach, 15th place on the 'The Guardian' list of 2015's most beautiful beaches.

Salema Beach amongst the "Best in the World"

Praia da Salema, in the Algarve's West coast, has been chosen by British national paper The Guardian, as one of the top 50 beach destinations, where the luxury villas and residences of the new VILA VITA Collection are located.

According to the article, “In the far west of the Algarve, the fishing village of Salema has somehow escaped the large-scale development that blights much of Portugal’s southern coast. Fishermen tend their nets on the sandy Blue Flag-certified beach, and dinosaur footprints can be found preserved in the limestone rocks. The gentle waves are perfect for a spot of boogie boarding under the watchful eye of the lifeguards on duty in the summer. There are sun loungers and umbrellas for hire, toilets and showers, and a good choice of restaurants and cafes.”

The typical traditional fishing village of Salema, and its beach, is found at the base of a large cliff, near Vila do Bispo. Here, in this idyllic location, are the four beautiful self-catering villas and residences of the VILA VITA Collection, all with endless views of the Ocean, with either a private pool or direct access to the famous beach.

Praia de Salema occupies the 15th position.  Other spectacular seashores listed by The Guardian are Source d’Argent in the Seychelles, Dune du Pyla in France and Shoal Bay, in Australia.
